Greenway Plaza operates as a live retail environment with continuous tenant activity, varied operating hours and a diverse electrical demand profile. Ecologiq approached the project as a multi-stage energy transformation, allowing solar capacity to be deployed progressively across the shopping centre roofscape without disrupting daily operations.
Structural inspections were conducted across multiple roof sections, each with different ages, spans and refurbishment histories. These assessments informed a staged mounting strategy that balanced load capacity, uplift exposure and access requirements while preserving future roof availability.
Electrical engineering focused on coordinating solar generation across several main and sub-distribution boards, accommodating tenant diversity ranging from food retailers to general retail. The battery system was engineered to complement the phased solar rollout, enabling demand smoothing, peak-load reduction and improved energy utilisation across extended trading hours.
